We are a Stairmaster and Strength Training class studio that also specializes in teaching Yoga.  We believe that all three training modalities (strength, cardio, yoga) are essential pieces to your whole body fitness and wellness.  

STEP + STRENGTH CLASSES

At ALIGN you’re not just working out, you’re learning THE WHY. Our muscle group focused Step + Strength classes are programmed to give you the most effective workouts, while educating and empowering YOU to reach your fitness goals.

THE SCIENCE

TRAINING LOWER BODY

We intentionally train Legs and Glutes the most. By training your lower body frequently it has been scientifically proven to strengthen your entire body. Remember your body is one organism, and compound exercises (like the squat, deadlift, hip thrust) recruit the most muscle fibers which require more energy, increase metabolism, and natural growth hormone in order to repair. A stronger butt equals a stronger body. 

STAIRMASTER

Walking on the Stairmaster at a pace you can maintain for the entire interval keeps your body in steady state cardio which burns more fat for fuel instead of relying on mostly carbs.  

WALKING FOR LONGEVITY 

Our hope is that walking is for life (whereas, for many bodies, running is not) so that’s why we climb the stairs. It's a low-impact workout, safe on knees, hips, and feet with a high metabolic rate!

STRENGTH

In order to grow lean muscle mass we guide you to lift heavier through progressive overload. This type of training requires your body to rest and repair before training the same muscle group again. If you’re lifting for hypertrophy (muscle growth) you can’t do full body every day, which is what many fitness studios default to in their program and schedule. We do things differently. Our schedule reflects the type of program a great personal trainer would put you on if you were working out with them multiple times a week.  

YOGA

We want you to take Step + Strength with us as much as possible, that being said, we encourage you to balance your S+S program with yoga. The proven benefits of yoga include:

  • Increase in strength, flexibility, and balance

  • Nervous system regulation and better sleep 

  • Stress reduction 

  • Increased proprioception and mind-body awareness.
